This page covers furlongco.com: the homepage, the free tools and the emails they send. It says what we collect, why, who helps us run the site, and how to switch tracking off.
Short version: we keep what you type into our forms so we can do what you asked. We measure how the site is used so we can make it better. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.
What you give us
- Free teardown form: your name, work email, firm website and, if you add it, the city you serve. We use it to write and send your teardown and to reply to you.
- Free tools: when you ask for a full report, your work email and, if you add them, your first name and firm. We also keep the report itself, so the link in your email opens it again. The tools never ask for client information. Please don’t enter any.
- Email: if you write to us or reply to a report, we keep that conversation.
- Booking a call: calls are booked through Cal.com, which handles the details you enter there under its own privacy policy.
After a report or teardown we may send an occasional note from McClain. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and replying “stop” works too.
What we measure
We count visits and clicks so we know which pages help and which ones lose people. We use:
| Google Analytics 4 | Pages viewed, how visitors arrived (for example a search or a link in an email), and actions such as starting a tool, requesting a teardown or clicking to book a call. Google signals and ad personalization are switched off. We never send your name, email or website to Google Analytics. |
|---|---|
| Microsoft Clarity | Heatmaps and replays of how pages are scrolled and clicked, used to find confusing parts of the site. Form fields and report forms are hidden from replays. Not loaded if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Page counts and page speed. It does not use cookies. |
| Our own event log | A small record of tool steps (for example “finished the calculator”) tied to a random ID stored in your browser, so we can tell which tools are useful. |
These tools set cookies or browser storage: Google Analytics uses cookies that start with _ga; Clarity uses _clck and _clsk; our own log keeps a random ID in your browser’s local storage. If you arrived from a link with campaign tags (such as utm_source), we keep those tags in your browser so a later request can be credited to the right email or post.
Switch it off
You can turn off Google Analytics, Clarity and our event log for this browser here. It sticks until you clear your browser data.
Measurement is on for this browser.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal: with it on, Clarity does not load and advertising features stay off. Google offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every site.
Who helps us run the site
- Cloudflare hosts the site, the tools’ database and page-speed counts.
- Google runs our email and the spreadsheet where requests land, and Google Analytics.
- Microsoft runs Clarity.
- FormSubmit delivers the teardown form to our inbox.
- Cal.com handles call booking.
They process information for us under their own terms. We do not give your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics keeps event data for 14 months. Clarity keeps replays for about 30 days. Form requests, tool reports and emails stay until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer useful to you or us.
Your choices
Write to [email protected] to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
The fine print
Furlong is a trade name of Chalant LLC, based in Orlando, Florida. This site is for businesses, chiefly independent financial advisory firms, and is not directed at children. If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
